We completed a very challenging project for Cushy Life in Calgary. They had a client who needed a chair to match their discontinued Henredon arm chair. The chair had a beautiful curved front to it with matching angled arms. The most challenging piece of the chair was it’s full show wood base. The elegant tapered legs and stretchers where accented by a knuckle at each joint. The base was roughed out with power tools and then  refined with files and chisels. The finished piece was absolutely stunning.

Margot Austin, senior design editor for Style at Home magazine, contacted us early in January to see if we would create the centerpiece for their booth at the 2011 Interior Design show. Margot had envisioned a classic round tufted settee as the seating for their booth which featured a stunning mural by artist Alanna Cavanagh and vibrant colours from Style at Home’s Beauti-tone paint collection. Our custom shop created the settee in house, from drawings to finished piece, in less than 4 days.

Leah Smith of Leah Smith Design in Toronto commissioned Whittington & Co. to custom build her vision of a banquette for one of her clients kitchens.  She wanted an impact and needed to seat as many people as possible.  The design was created in 3 sections which measured at 130”. It was built directly over a couple of vents with the result we had to created toe kicks with venting on both ends. Leah used a beautiful Faux leather  that has quite a luxurious look and is practical for dining at the same time.
